Line Camp Saddle Shop is a custom order saddle shop run by Bill & Linda Holden in southwest Montana. All our leather products are handmade with the best leather and hardware available. Our saddles are built on wood, rawhide-covered trees, ordered to the customers specs, and are covered with Herman Oak saddle skirting leather. They can be as plain or as fancy as you like or somewhere in-between. All the work is done in our shop by Bill.
Welcome
Bill grew up living and working on cattle ranches, and spent most of his life around livestock and good hands in Colorado, New Mexico, Utah, Idaho, and Montana. He & Linda raised their two boys on ranches and spent 10 years on a 2300 head, 60,000 acre grazing allotment. He's done leather work from a young age, building headstalls, chaps, chinks, and carving leather pictures and book covers. He's done repair work on whatever gear was getting worn out by hard use, ill advised adventures on colts, or roping some of those critters that maybe were best left unroped!
Bill had the opportunity to learn to build saddles from Glenn Earnest at Crooked Pine Saddle Shop. He takes pride and pleasure in what he makes and works hard to make our products last. He's in the shop most week days; once in a while a neighbor or good friend will call and give him an excuse to get horseback and go brand some calves, move some cows to a new pasture or go on a fall gather. If you happen to call when he's gone, leave a message and number, we'll gladly call you back and tell you all about it, and figure out how we can make your riding experience more enjoyable.
